Workplace gender equality

🙇‍♀️Workplace gender equality will be achieved when people are able to access and enjoy equal rewards, resources and opportunities regardless of gender.
👉It will require: Workplaces to provide equal pay for work of equal or comparable value. Removal of barriers to the full and equal participation of women in the workforce.

Hi Melike,
In my opinion, there is a great variety of the factors that affect gender equality in the workplace. But those two came to my mind first:
1. Working environment. If you work in an environment that is supportive, trusts employees respect individuals, and offers freedom to be creative, you can work more efficiently and share your knowledge and skills. Working in such an environment will for sure contribute to more flexible work and respect for people regardless of their gender.
2. Bold leadership is a form of diverse leadership where the team clearly and openly sets and measures equality targets.
What influences women’s motivation at work?
1. Possibility to maintain a work-life balance
2. Providing meaningful and challenging work
3. Equal payment

Fortunately, I have grown up in an environment where the mother’s salary has always been higher than the father’s and where there has been no discrimination for being a woman or a man. But it should be noted that for me the main factor that affects equality is motherhood, and even more so when it comes to a baby that feeds exclusively on breast milk. Still, most women have career dreams that motivate them enough to pursue them. Her main motivation is undoubtedly female empowerment.
